Mac Nerd

In case you haven't heard, I'm kind of a nerd. Especially when it comes to cameras, computers, and cell phones. My most recent adventure has been upgrading my 2009 15" MacBook Pro.

Here's a list of a few of the newest upgrades:

-Replaced my 320 GB 5400 rpm hard drive with a 256 Solid State.
-Tightened the screen and stopped it from wobbling.
-Replaced the fans to reduce noise and improve cooling.

I also completed some standard cleaning and other small tweaks. With just a few simple changes, I have completely breathed new life into my old computer! Even better is that the total cost for all my upgrades came in just under $400, which is about 20% of the price of my old computer's intended replacement (brand new 13" Macbook Air). This project has completely changed how I choose to view and use technology. My new motto is: "If I can't make simple repairs to a product, I'm not going to buy it. Period." It is so rewarding being able to open up your products and see what makes them tick!
